On October 24, 2024, we are holding a leadership meeting where we will address the topic of management in times of shortages. We will focus on the challenges posed by shortages of resources, competence, but also time. The highlight of the meeting will be participation in our HEXgame simulation, which is a great metaphor for management at 3 levels of government – municipalities , regions and the state. This simulation will allow you to test for yourself the importance of cooperation, sharing of knowledge, resources, and at the same time allow you to experience together the building of resilience, both your personal and the entire organization.
What will you experience at the October 24 leaders’ meeting? Here are the threads we will address in the topic ” Managing in Times of Deficits”:
- Prioritization and decision-making. How can leaders and teams prioritize tasks and effectively allocate limited resources?
- Innovative problem solving. The importance of creativity and innovation in finding solutions when traditional resources or competencies are lacking.
- Effective use of time. Paying attention to time management and productivity strategies, such as the Pareto principle (80/20), delegation, and focusing on activities with the greatest impact.
- Building resilience and flexibility. Resilience. How can teams in government build resilience to deal with shortfalls?
- Cooperation and sharing of resources. Explore opportunities for collaboration across departments or organizations to share resources, knowledge and skills. Synergy of localities.
We notice the need to share experiences, concrete solutions to help us all navigate more easily in times of uncertainty and constant change. We know that only a few feel comfortable in it, but we also know how to reduce the discomfort of going through rapid and unpredictable change through experiences that open heads and provide opportunities to gain a fresh perspective.
During our meeting, we will invite all participants to take part in one of the best business simulations, brilliantly capturing the realities of a complex business environment, which is changing rapidly and rapidly, and the public sector, where transformations are not so common. The HEXgame simulation workshop is part of the offering of the GCA Power Shot – short, dynamic meetings for leaders and executives – a great opportunity to see how it works and what it brings.
What will you learn during a leader’s meeting with the HEXgame simulation game?
- You will learn unusual formats for top staff meetings. Engaging, full of surprising conclusions and a fresh perspective on your role in the team.
- You will learn how to ensure“quality time”that builds a spirit of cooperation in top cadre teams, which often refer to themselves as a group of strong individuals, not just a management team.
- You will see how participation in games and simulations can support overcoming organizational silos, strengthen the resilience of the leader and the entire organization
- You’ll get a feel for the role of messaging, and how it builds awareness of a common goal.

HEXgame is a game that was designed to show that change is not only a challenge and discomfort, but also a cause for growth and development.
It was created by a team of researchers, led by Richard D. Duke, in response to an urgent need to educate public sector managers in Ghana. It was part of a program to foster development in Third World countries and support an attempt to solve their dramatic socioeconomic problems.
Now we can take advantage of this benefit and transfer the lessons from it to the area of supporting leadership competencies. After the game, we will briefly discuss the lessons learned and invite you to a small refreshment and networking.
The organizers of the Game Changers Academy meeting and the Jaworzno District Employment Office:
Game Changers Academy provides development experiences for change leaders and those on whom the success of the transformation depends. We design training for executives and managers using games and business simulations. We harness the energy of Game Changers to successfully lead organizations through complex change. Our offerings include leadership programs both online and live onsite. Since 2017, we have been regularly running our flagship development program for top leaders – Master of Business Change, to which we invite managers, entrepreneurs and leaders of the nonprofit sector.
The District Labor Office in Jaworzno is an institution that effectively and efficiently carries out not only statutory activities, but also, by undertaking non-standard solutions, focuses on competence development and meets the needs of local entrepreneurs and the unemployed, which translates into measurable successes of the unit. The practices developed, i.e. contacts with employers, proprietary research, pilot projects, or innovative solutions for vocational guidance, have resulted in a friendly image of the Office and high quality of services provided. One example of innovative solutions is the Jaworznickie Laboratorium Biznesu, which is part of the structure of the Jaworzno District Labor Office and is a modern office space with three zones – creativity, coworking and information. As a partner of the event, we would like to support entrepreneurs in the sound management of their business, focusing on long-term economic development in the region.
